Before you purchase please be informed and accept that these cauldrons / kazans are hand made in Namangan, Uzbekistan using an ancient traditional technique, therefore they all have some aesthetic imperfections.
But be assured, it will not affect its cooking characteristics.
A Kazan has many names around the world. Some call it qazan, qozon, cazan, ghazan or simply cauldron. It is vastly used in many traditional cuisines, including Uzbek, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Afghane, Uyghur, Armenian, Russian, Turkish, Azerbaijani and many more. It's unique shape and material makes it irreplaceable in preparation of many different meals such as Plov (pilaf), Lagman, Chorba, Boorsoq, Shorpo, etc. This particular item is produced using the ancient classic technic. The kazan is 100% made with cast iron and is traditionally seasoned with vegetable oil, no chemical coats or enamels, all natural as it was done for centuries.
All these kazans have slight aesthetic imperfections which are normal due to the method used to poor the iron into the molds
This kazan pot, as any other cast iron dish, requires special care, instructions will be provided in the package, different other variations can also be found on internet.
