Le Creuset has been making premium quality enameled cast iron cookware since 1925 at its foundry in northern France. Each piece of cast iron is handcrafted and made from an individual sand mold, so it is unique.
Molten iron is poured into the molds from a large cauldron called a
“Creuset”
and then enameled and fired at extremely high temperatures to create a vibrant durable finish.
Because a number of the manufacturing processes still rely on manual skills, each piece has its individually and slight variations in finish may occur. None of these, however, alters the overall quality or cooking performance of the cookware.
